Craniofacial and Cleft Center

For children with complex face and skull deformities, the Craniofacial and Cleft Center has a team of clinicians working together in the diagnosis and treatment of complex cranial and facial deformities. These may be caused by trauma or congenital abnormalities present at birth. Joseph M. Sanzari Children’s Hospital and K. Hovnanian Children’s Hospital are two of only six hospitals in the state nationally recognized as an American Cleft Palate-Craniofacial Association (ACPA) Approved Team. The Craniofacial and Cleft Clinic offers a team of pediatric experts including:

Our children’s hospital teams are ACPA Approved and have met the Standards of Team Care for Cleft and Craniofacial Teams set by the American Cleft Palate-Craniofacial Association (ACPA). The ACPA Commission on the Approval of Teams has determined that our children’s hospitals are capable of providing cleft and craniofacial care in a coordinated and consistent manner, that care provided by our children’s hospitals follow the proper sequence and takes place within the framework of the patient’s overall developmental, medical and psychological needs. All approved teams in the U.S. and Canada are listed on the ACPA Family Services website.
