Guided Imagery Meditations | Hackensack Meridian Health
Research shows that listening to guided relaxation and imagery programs can provide a valuable benefits to overall health and well-being. These programs also promote relaxation during medical tests, medical procedures, and chemotherapy treatments.
Listen once or twice a day. If you choose the “Sail Through Surgery” audio program, listen twice a day beginning one-to-two weeks prior to your scheduled surgery. Even listening the day before can be helpful. Find a quiet place, make yourself comfortable, and give yourself permission to relax. Stretch a little before returning to daily activities, unless your intention is to fall asleep.
Listening to these audio programs is not a replacement for medical or psychological care or medications. If the program makes you anxious, stop immediately. Do not use while driving or operating heavy machinery.
